I feel honored and so grateful to be in presence of children at many different locations throughout my week. But no matter where it is and what the occasion, I am constantly reminded of two things- to maintain a sense of wonder and an open heart. Instances like these: Two little ballerinas who met each other for the first time embrace and one says, "You are wearing pink, just like me!" to the group hug I get from all 10 children in my kids yoga class that day and finally the sparkle in a baby's eye as I quietly play while his mommy rests in savasana during Mommy and me yoga. Thier joy, excitement and love for each moment is so contagious and I always look forward to sharing with them. After all the Beatles said it best, " and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love, you make."
Give and receive a sense of wonder and an open heart it will be the greatest of gifts!
Yesterday will never be forgotten ! Coming into my last day as an employee of lululemon athletica Glendale I knew it was a new beginning. For when anything comes to an end something begins. I woulld not dwell on all that I would miss but continue to nurture this team and store for all it has been to me. However, what I saw as a new way of maintaining my realtionship with these beautiful people came to a whole new level when I was asked to sit down and suddenly became surrounded by all of my team whom are my family and friends. What I thought was an incredibly generous goodbye ceremony turned into a popping of the question: " Will you be our next Yoga Ambassador?" Out of completee shock and disbelief I chirped "Yes". It was a true culmination of the the 3 years I have grown with this company and the greatest honor to represent all of that. Talk about happy endings....or should I say happy beginnings!!!!!! Thank YOU lovely lulu ladies of Glendale, can't wait to create!
Spring is a time of renewal -Of shedding old layers that are no longer working and becoming clear. I have been SO inspired by all of the people in my life making choices for their growth that I too have begun making these choices. Making a move to a warehouse downtown, playing out the last few days as an employee at lululemon athletica- a company I have spent 3 years working for, beginning a full time teaching career, and a new dedication to my dancing. These choices are never easy or without concern, but they are essential to growth and finding new ways of living your life. Because after all it is your life to live.
This Halloween 2010 will go down in the history books. The rad divas of lulullemon Glendale all rallied to create the awesome video linked below. It is an experience so get ready. I originally created the choreography for my 6yr old kids in a Broadway Dance Class that I teach. When co-worker and friend Amanda requested that I teach the team Thriller I thought, hey- I could use the same choreography and they will rock it! So that is how it all began to come together. On Halloween morning we zombi-fied our faces and got groovy in the street of the Americana celebrating not only the fun and spooky holiday, but friendships, good times, dance, and of course M.J. <3
Today we came to the mat at dusk in Elysian Park with many things to celebrate: National Yoga Month, the coming of the Fall Equinox, breath, balance and friends. As we flowed through our asanas amonst the trees, we paused to observe the change of blues in the sky while the dual action of the soft breeze and the warm setting sun caressed our skin. In these moments I thought how lucky I am to share this ultimate connection- Yoga. This practice is already a tool for connecting the natural rhythms and flux of the individual with the whole. So as we break down walls and step outside we add the key ingredient in creating an experience of true expression.
I had a blast dancing in the Ke$ha music video "Take it Off" Thanks to my #1 Nicki Loranger who is Ke$ha's music manager!

I released my website into the wild, as is.
As I grow and develop, it will too and I look forward to this work in progress. Ultimately that is what life is. No destination, no end result. Just continuous learning and flowing with the currents as they come.
I have already had such wonderful responses from all of the amazing people I am surrounded by and for that I am thankful .
Thought I'd share this article I stumbled upon: http://www.yogajournal.com/basics/1809?utm_source=DailyInsight&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=DailyInsight
